Prostate cancer is one of the most commonly treated malignancies. Medical treatment may involve surgery and radiotherapy. The aims of medical treatment are to achieve cure of the cancer, preserve urinary control and preserve erectile function.
Urinary incontinence results from a possible unavoidable damage to the urethral sphincter during prostate surgery. 
Erectile dysfunction relates to corporal fibrosis of the erectile tissue .
